Oatmeal Sweet Bar

Originally called Car Snack 2 (Chernila 63).  I made just a couple adjustments to fit into trigger-free mode and they are scrumptious.

1/2 cup butter (salted tastes best)
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup Lyle's Golden Syrup  (If Lyle's isn't available, just use honey.)
1/4 cup honey
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 tsp kosher salt

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.  Line an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving extra paper for pulling the finished product out of the pan.

2.  Combine the butter, brown sugar, syrup and honey in the saucepan, and heat over medium heat until melted, about 3 minutes.  Add the oats and salt and coat thoroughly.  Transfer to the prepared pan and pat down with a spatula.

3.  Bake until the edges darken, about 25 minutes.  The mixture will be soft when it comes out of the oven but allow it to cool completely before taking it out of the pan and cutting into 12 squares.

Store:  Room temp: in covered pan, 10 days.
Freezer:  4 months double wrapped.

HYH omission:   1 cup raw sliced almonds
