Mapelicious Butternut Squash

I tweaked this only a little so it is safe. The original calls for sugar-free syrup and light whipped butter.  Lillien. 

3 cups peeled and cubed butternut squash
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp butter
1/4 tsp salt

Place squash and 1/4 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl and cover.  Microwave for 5 to 7 minutes, until soft. 

Drain water from the bowl.  Add syrup, butter, and salt.  Mash and stir. 

2 Servings.
