Sweet Cinnamon Hummus

Sweet Cinnamon Hummus

This recipe was adapted from The Wannabe Chef.  The almond butter in his is a no-no so, I set out to make something similar.  Made some changes.

2 cups of chickpeas, drained, washed and peeled
1/8 cup honey
1/8 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
warm water

If you're in a hurry, you can skip peeling the chickpeas.  It will taste the same, just a little lumpier.

Combine everything but water in a food processor.  It will texturize like wet sand.  Add small amounts of warm water, a tablespoon or so at a time, until you get a texture like baby food.  You will need to scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl to make sure everything gets combined.

Enjoy!!

I heated some as I was experimenting with which dipping vehicles were best and it was even better warm.  10 sec is all it needed in the microwave.

Great on celery, or with tortilla chips.
